Domaine Maby

Domaine Maby is a distinguished family estate rooted in the village of Tavel, on the right bank of France’s southern Rhône. With origins dating back to the early 20th century, great‑grandfather Auguste Maby began commercial production in the early 1900s, and in 1946 grandson Armand formally established the domaine, constructing a modern cellar and expanding into Lirac’s famed pebble‑studded terroir. Over the decades, vines in Tavel, Lirac, Côtes‑du‑Rhône, and IGP Coteaux du Cèze have grown to cover around 60 ha.

In 2005, Richard Maby – after a career on the Paris Bourse – returned to chart a new course. Armed with precision vineyard mapping, sustainable viticulture, and a modern winery outfitted with concrete-lined tanks, he revolutionized production while honoring tradition. Under his leadership, all harvesting is meticulously done by hand, plot by plot, to precisely respect each site’s character. In recognition of his contributions, Richard was named Rhône Valley Winemaker of the Year in the 2021 Guide Hachette.

A certified organic, sustainably driven domaine, Domaine Maby combines manual, respectful farming with modern techniques to create expressive Rhône wines that balance tradition and freshness – with considerable acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic.
