Domaine des Malandes
Domaine des Malandes is a family-owned winery in the heart of Chablis, Burgundy, with roots stretching back to 1949, when the family first harvested grapes in the Fourchaume vineyard. The estate as it's known today was formally founded in 1973 by Lyne Marchive, whose parents had passed down seven hectares to her despite the era's challenges of frost and limited mechanization. Over three decades, she expanded the vineyard holdings and modernized the winery, building a reputation that took Chablis wines to top tables across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
In 2017-2018, Lyne handed the reins to her children, Richard Rottiers and Amandine Marchive, while longtime winemaker Guénolé Breteaudeau, who joined the estate in 2006, continues to guide production with deep respect for the terroir.
Today the domaine farms 29 hectares of certified organic vines across Chablis, producing wines spanning Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru. The wines are prized for their freshness, finesse, and minerality, drawn directly from the famous Kimmeridgian limestone subsoil that defines the Chablis appellation. Grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed, with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel using natural yeasts to preserve pure, vibrant fruit character.
