2022 Chateau Micalet, Haut Medoc, Cru Artisan

Famille Fédieu

Crafted by Dominique Fédieu and family, Château Micalet Haut-Médoc 2022 is a refined, classic expression of the appellation, offering balance and excellent value. The 22 vintage shows aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum, accented by cedar, graphite, and subtle spice. Medium-bodied and well-structured, it delivers fresh acidity, polished tannins, and a lightly oaked, savory finish. Approachable now, it also has the structure to age well.

Based near Cussac-Fort-Médoc, the family-run estate farms gravelly, Garonne-influenced soils well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate achieved full organic certification in 2009, underscoring the Fédieu family’s commitment to sustainable viticulture and careful vineyard stewardship. Its Cru Artisan status reflects a hands-on, traditional approach, resulting in an honest, terroir-driven Bordeaux that balances heritage with precision.
